My family tree research is currently under review (I am reviewing each and every entry to ensure that I have based all of the information on fact and that any items of conjecture are clearly shown as such).

As soon as this exercise is completed, the research will appear here.

The major lines of the my tree are:

RAINE - My paternal line, predominantly from County Durham, particularly the Bishop Auckland area and I am currently trying to prove the link to an Isaac RAINE of Romaldkirk:

Isaac RAINE was born Abt. 1755 in Romaldkirk, formerly in the North Riding of Yorkshire (now County Durham), England, and died 1828. He married Mary SHIELD 19 Apr 1777 in Romaldkirk. She was born Abt. 1752 in Romaldkirk, and died 20 May 1803 in Middleton in Teesdale, County Durham, England.

COOK(E) - my maternal line seems to originate from the Loddon area of Norfolk before venturing to Bishop Auckland in County Durham at the turn of the 20th century, around the same time that the COOKE family dropped the "E" and became "COOK". My research currently shows a proven link to Samuel COOKE of Loddon:

Samuel COOKE was born Abt. 1749 in Norfolk, England, and died 1815 in Norfolk, England. He married ANN UNKNOWN. She was born Abt. 1742, and died 1837 in Norfolk, England, buried on 25 Dec 1837 in Heckingham, Norfolk. Samuel COOKE was also buried in Heckingham but considerably earlier - on 4 Jan 1815, his occupation is recorded as a "Yeoman" from Loddon in Norfolk.

PEMBERTON - my wife's paternal line which seems to pointing me towards the North West of England at the moment.

DODSWORTH - This is my wife's maternal line. Again, this seems to be a northern family line. At present I am confirming research that suggests a link to Kirkby-Ravensworth in Yorkshire, through a William DODSWORTH (born Abt. 1792) who married Ann Collins (b Abt. 1794).
